Students of Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, our Partner University in Dornbirn, could apply for the special scholarship for ISSRB.
The Story of our former participant, David Ivarsson: “I got my scholarship through the Swedish Institute as a part of their programme called "The Visby Programme". When I applied I had to write about why I applied for the scholarship and describe my intentions with participating in the project (ISSRB) and what I would gain from it. I had to have a supporting letter from my home institution in Sweden (Växjö University) and also a supporting letter from the receiving university. I also had to make a calculation of my estimated costs during the project (such as tuition fee, travel costs, accommodation, insurance and so on). After the summer course I also had to write a report of my experiences and my actual costs (supported with receipts) which should be sent to the Swedish Institute.”
The ISSRB could provide the financial support of 50% discount for one participant from a developing or transformation country.
The story of our first scholar, Alin Codoban, Romania: “I would like to send ISSRB professors and administrators my best wishes. It was a very good experience for me and I had the chance to really know Russia's realities and its business culture. Now I started my PhD programme here in Romania, with a research topic connected with Russian and European economy. As being the first student to got a scholarship from ISSRB I would like to tell some words about it for the future scholars. As coming from Romania, a country of Eastern Europe, where it is not so easy to find a scholarship for a summer school, I was supported and encouraged to come to St. Petersburg by the organizers of ISSRB. The school was serious but with a lot of opportunities to have fun, being organized many excursions. You'll have the chance to interact with very well prepared professors and definitely you'll discover new and interesting stuff about Russian economy and about Russia's culture. So, you should make your choice. Good luck!”
